He married Harriet "Hattie" McCallum^1,2,10 [Harriet "Hattie" McCollum⁴], about 1905^1,2,10.  Harriet, daughter of John McCollum & Elizabeth "Bessie" Callahan, was born Jun 7 1887, Essex, Clinton County, Michigan.^1,2,4,10,11

On Sep 12 1918 Havila Harrison Hinshaw, age 37, registered for the World War I draft in Portland, Multnomah County, Oregon.  He declared he was born Aug 29 1881, and was then residing at 1117 E. 6th N, Portland, occupied as a carpenter employed by the P. W. R. & N.  He declared his nearest relative was his wife, Mrs. Hattie Hinshaw, of the same address.  He was recorded as medium height, medium build, dark brown eyes, dark brown hair and "partly bald".³

On Apr 25 1942 Harry Havila Hinshaw, age 61, registered for the World War II draft in Portland, Multnomah County, Oregon.  He declared he was born Aug 29 1881 in Dalles [sic], Polk County, Oregon, and was then residing at 26 SE 71 ave., Portland, occupied by the Union Pacific in Portland.  He declared his relative/contact was Hattie Hinshaw of the same address.  He was recorded as 5'8" tall, 165 lbs., brown eyes, black hair, dark complexion, and "scar on left side of skull - scar [..unclear..] finger of left hand".⁵

In 1955 Harry was living at 26 S.E. 71st Ave., Portland, Oregon.⁷  

Havila Harrison Hinshaw died Jan 2 1955, Southside Hospital, Mesa, Maricopa County, Hospital; age 73.⁷  

Harry died from injuries sustained in a home gas stove explosion on Dec 23 1954.⁷  He had been in Arizona for two weeks - it is unknown if he was visiting someone or on vacation.  

Harriet died Aug 16 1959, Portland, Multnomah County, Oregon.^4,13
