Born Apr 14 1918, Union County, Kentucky.3,4,5,6  

He married Alvatine McKendree.2  

On Jan 27 1942 at Fort Benjamin Harrison, Indiana, Claude V. Henshaw, born 1918, enlisted as a private in the U.S. military ("branch immaterial") for the duration of the war.  He declared he had a grammar school education, was married, and his civil occupation was automobile serviceman.  He was recorded as 69 inches tall, 155 lbs.7  

Claude and Alvatine were apparently divorced.  Alvatine remarried to a -- Thomas and had a son Tommie/Tommy W. Thomas, Feb 18 1955.3,8  

He then married Agnus Maebelle Courtney3,9 [Maebelle Henshaw10,11,12].  Agnus was born May 7 1922.4,11  

Agnus died Oct 7 1996, Henderson, Kentucky; age 74.11,12  

He then married Marie V. Hobbs, Aug 30 1998, Henderson County, Kentucky.10,13  Marie was born about 1938.13  

In 1999-2005 Claude was living in Henderson, Kentucky.14,15  

Claude Veron Henshaw died Nov 19 2005, Deaconess Hospital, Evansville, Vanderburgh County, Indiana; buried Fairmont Cemetery.10  

Claude's obituary was published in "The Gleaner" (Henderson, Kentucky) on November 20 and 22, 2005,10,16 and in "The Union County Advocate" (Morganfield, Union County, Kentucky) on Nov 23 2005:17

Claude Henshaw

Claude Henshaw, 87, Henderson, died at 6:55 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 19, 2005, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville.  

He was a retired farmer and was a member of Geneva Baptist Church.  

He was preceeded in death by his first wife, Maebelle Henshaw, and by one son, Donnie Henshaw.  

Survivors include his wife, Marie Henshaw; three daughters, Brenda Wethington and Sylvia [sic] Rice, both of Henderson, and Ruby Eikermann of Robards; four sons, Wayne Henshaw and Larry Henshaw, both of Henderson, Earl Henshaw of Smith Mills and Ricky Henshaw of Dade City, Fla.; one step-daughter, Brenda Dossett of Henderson; three step-sons, David Lewis Hobbs of Henderson, and William Paul Hobbs and Michael Alan Hobbs, both of Madisonville; three sisters, Lodie Butts and Martha Smith, both of Sturgis, and Thelma Ware of Detroit, Mich.; one brother, J.T. Henshaw of Louisville; 17 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.  

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Geneva Baptist Church.  The Rev. Kenny Foster will officiate. Burial will be in Fairmont Cemetery.  

Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Benton-Glunt Funeral Home and from 9 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the church.  

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Geneva Baptist Church.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Henshaw, Bryan Henshaw, Brad Henshaw, Michael Willett, Jason Henshaw and Nathan Henshaw.  Honorary pallbearers will be Betty Sue Morphett, Becky Morphett, Angie Graham, John Eric Henshaw, Nicholas Wethington and James Thomas Henshaw.
