Died
At his home 7 miles north of Villisca, of consumption, J.L. Hinshaw aged 34 years, 4 months and 22 days.  Deceased was born in Chase County, Kansas.  He removed with his parents to Indiana and from there to Illinois, where he married to Mollie Campbell, February 25, 1879.  There they resided until in the fall, when he removed to Iowa, living there ever since.  He united with the U.B. church 15 years ago this month and has lived a faithful consistent christian life ever since.  He leaves a faithful and devoted wife, father, mother and one brother to mourn his loss.  He will be missed by all who knew him, but he has gone to rest, after 2 years of constant suffering.

Although he was only in bed about five weeks, yet many kind, watchful friends were ever-near him to do all in their power to nurse him to health again, but all in vain.  The Lord's will be done, not ours.

The bereaved wife, parents and brother have our deepest sympathy in this dark hour of grief and affliction.  We must realize that what is our loss is his gain and we have a blessed hope beyond the grave that when the storm of life is o'er, the faithful will meet to part no more.

The family sent the following card of thanks to well-wishing friends and neighbors:5

We desire to express our heartfelt thanks to friends and neighbors who so kindly rendered their assistance in this sad hour of bereavement.
