When Lester was a young child, his grandfather James "Handscale" was dying at Lester's father's home in Princeton, Alabama. Lester wanted to know what was happening with his grandfather "Handscale". When he was told "good people are sent to heaven when they die", he wanted to know where their shoes were sent! The family still laughs at this one 79 years later.1
He married Sylvia Swaim.2 Sylvia was born Dec 15 1913.2 (Dec 1 1913).5
Lester settled in Gurley, Madison County, Alabama.1,5
Roy Lester Henshaw died Jul 10 1982, buried Clay Cemetery, Princeton, Jackson County, Alabama.2,5
