David Hinchey

David was shown in the 1800 census, Orange County, North Carolina.⁵ Also shown were John Henchey, Michael Henchey and Lewis Henchey who were very likely closely related (perhaps brothers).

He married Violet Salter, Apr 11 1803, Orange County, North Carolina.⁴ (or Apr 11 1795).¹ Violet was born about 1770, Orange County, North Carolina.^2,6

David was again shown in the 1810 census, Orange County, North Carolina (oage 151).³ Also shown were Levi Hinchey, Mikel Hinchey and Ezekiel Hinchy who were very likely closely related (perhaps brothers).

David was again shown in the 1820 census, Orange County, North Carolina (page 316).⁷ Also shown are Bartlett Hinchey and Levi Hinchey who were very likely closely related (perhaps brothers).

David apparently died before 1850, as the 1850 census shows Violet, age 80, living in the household of her daughter Mary.⁶

In the 1790 census of Hanover County, Virginia (page 29) there was a Bartelot Hinchey, and also a John Hinchey,⁸ one of whom might have been David's parent.
