Jacob's obituary was published in "The American Friend" on March 9, 1905 (page 170).^h

Widow Lydia was shown in the 1920 census (Jan 10 1920), living alone in Rose Hill, Butler County, Kansas:ⁱ

Lydia died Jan 5 1924.¹⁹⁴    Lydia's death was reported in a newspaper obituary, as follows:¹⁹⁴

Lydia M. Davis, daughter of John and Sarah Davis, born in Hamilton County, Indiana on December 6, 1855.    She was married to Jacob L. Hinshaw, February 13, 1875.    In this union was born 4 children, 3 sons and 1 daughter.    ... [unclear] ...    Her husband and 2 children preceeded her in death.    ... [unclear] ...    She was a member of Friends Church ... [unclear] ...    She was married to Isaac L. Pitts, July 2, 1923.    She died January 5, 1924, leaving her husband, son and their families, one sister, Mrs. Lizzie Bond, and 2 brothers, E.B. and J.C.
