Edmund J. Henshaw Jr.
A graveside service with full military honors for Edmund J. "Pop" Henshaw Jr., who died Thursday at Stuart Circle Hospital in Richmond, will be held a 2 p.m. Sunday at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Dr. Stuart B. West will officiate.
Mr. Henshaw, a native of Richmond, was a retired supervisor at the Dahlgren Naval Surface Weapons Center. He was a retired technical sergeant in the U. S. Marine Corps and was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Richmond. A member of the White Oak Volunteer Fire Dept., Mr. Henshaw lived on White Oak Road.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Belvye R. Henshaw; a son, Edmund J. Henshaw III of Huntington, W. Va.; a daughter [sic step-daughter], Mrs. Margaret C. Howard of Fredericksburg; five sisters, Mrs. Virginia H. McDannald of Herndon, Mrs. Martha H. Cooke of Silver Spring, Md., Mrs. Vivian H. Nicholas of Ashland, Ky., and Mrs. Frances H. Lewis and Mrs. Mary H. Seay, both of Richmond; and six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Wheeler & Thompson Funeral Home.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the American Cancer Society.
