William's obituary was published in the "Taunton Daily Gazette" (Taunton, Massachusetts) on March 1, 1926:4
The funeral of William Elton Henshaw, who passed away in Norton on Friday, February 26, was held from 41 Cohannet Street this afternoon. Services were conducted by Rev. C. Leonard Holton, pastor of the Raynham Congregational Church, and were largely attended by relatives and friends of the deceased. The remains were placed in the tomb at Mayflower Hill cemetery awaiting interment in Pine Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Henshaw was born in Easton but had been a resident of Taunton for many years. In failing health for about a year, his last illness was of little more than a month's duration.
Mr. Henshaw is survived by his wife, Sarah E. (Millerd) Henshaw; eight daughters, Mrs. Henry M. Curtis, Mrs. John Beard, Mrs. Bertram Westgate, Mrs. Alfred Theroux, Mrs. Irvine Salley, Mrs. Carlton Spencer, Mrs. Harold Phillips, Miss Frances Henshaw; two sons, Ernest H. and Wilford B.; three sisters, Sarah M. Reed, Minerva J. Briggs, and Carrie Rogers; and three brothers, Lewis J., Frank H., and Frederic H. Henshaw.
