James Madison Hincher8,9,10 [James Hencher11, Madison Hincher2].

Born 1848, Miller's Creek, Wilkes County, North Carolina.1,12  (Jan - 1855).2  (c1850).3  James Madison and brother Thomas Jefferson were twins5,12 (although they were shown as the same age in the 1860 census,12 they were shown with different ages in the 1900 census).2  

He married Liz Kilby8 [Elizabeth Kilby1].  Liz was born about 1847, North Carolina.1  

James and family were shown in the 1870 census (Aug 23 1870), Mulberry Township, Wilkes County, North Carolina:1

Hincher, James, age 21, born in North Carolina; farmer; cannot read or write.
Hincher, Elizabeth, age 23, born in North Carolina; keeping house.
Hincher, James, age 4, born in North Carolina.
Living nearby in 1870 was father William Hincher13 brothers William P. Hincher14 and Thomas J. Hinchey,15 and also an unidentified George Hincher.16  

He then married Celia Billings, after 1880.8  Celia, daughter of Julias + Martha J. Billings, was born about 1867, North Carolina.17  

Celia died in childbirth of her only child,5 apparently son John.2  

He then married Emmeline Hall.8  

He then married Perlina Wood2 [Lina Wood8, Pauline Wood3], about 18892.  Perlina was born Jun - 1865, North Carolina.2  (c1870).3  

James lived on Blackjack Mountain, on the south side of Stone Mountain, Wilkes County, North Carolina.5  James was known locally as "uncle Matt".5

Living next door in 1900 was the family of brother Thomas Jefferson Hincher.18

James Madison Hincher died before 1920, buried Cane Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, Wilkes County, North Carolina.6,19
