Born Feb 22 1897, Miller's Creek, Wilkes County, North Carolina.4,6,7,9  (Feb - 1898).10  (Feb 22 1896).11  (Jul - 1895).1,3,8  

On Jun 2 1918 Soloman Irdell Hincher, age 21, registered for the World War I draft in Wilkesboro, Wilkes County, North Carolina.  He declared he was born Feb 22 1897 in Joynes, North Carolina, and he was then still residing in Joynes where he was employed by a Hilary Billings.  He declared his father was born in Reddies River Township, [Wilkes County] North Carolina.  He declared his nearest relative was his father, T.J. Hincher of Joynes.  He was recorded as medium height, medium build, blue eyes, brown hair.9  

He married Sally Ann Wood, 1925.1,3,12  Sally, daughter of Charlie Hansford Wood & Julia Anne "Annie" Smith, was born Oct 12 1907, Wilkes County, North Carolina.4,13  

Solomon and family were shown in the 1930 census, Traphill Township, Wilkes County, North Carolina:3

Hincher, Irdel, head-of-household, age 34, born in North Carolina; parents born in North Carolina; first married at age 28; rented home; no radio in home; occupation: farmer, general farm.
Hincher, Sallie, wife, age 24, born in North Carolina; parents born in North Carolina; first married at age 18.
Hincher, Carlie J. [sic], son, age 3, born in North Carolina; parents born in North Carolina.
Hincher, James S., son, age 1, born in North Carolina; parents born in North Carolina.

Solomon Iredell Hincher died Apr 15 1988, at his home, Wilkes County, North Carolina; age 91.6,7,11,14  

In 2005 Sally was still living in Traphill, Wilkes County, North Carolina.12  

Sally died Feb 26 2012, Elkin Healthcare, Elkin, Surry County, North Carolina; age 104.13  

Sally's obituary was published as follows:13

Sally Ann Hincher, age 104 passed away on Sunday, February 26, 2012 at Elkin Healthcare.  Mrs. Hincher was born in Wilkes County on October 12, 1907 to the late Charlie and Annie Smith Wood.  

In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Solomon Irdell Hincher; children, Charlie Hincher, James Solomon Hincher, William Vance Hincher, Danny Harold Hincher, Esteline Harris, Nannie Jane Hayes, Dorothy Lee Barker; two brothers; and two sisters.  

Mrs. Hincher is survived by one daughter, Martha Lucille Hincher Hayes & husband Denver of Elkin; sister, Alice Wood of Elkin; 22 grandchildren; several loving great and great-great grandchildren; and several loving nieces and nephews.  

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, March 1, 2012 at Old Roaring River Baptist Church with Rev. Jim Rhoades officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Mrs. Hincher will lie in state from 1:30 - 2:00 p.m. prior to the service.  The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 29, 2012 from 6:00-8:00p.m. at Johnson Funeral Home.
