He married Minnie Pierce, about 1896.^1,3 Minnie was born Jul - 1878, Texas.¹ Minnie was the aunt of Addie Adams who married John's brother Ben and Laura Adams who married John's brother George.³

Minnie died Mar - 1902, buried Nelda Cemetery, Dickson, Carter County, Oklahoma.³ Minnie died seven days after the birth of her twins, Lester and Vester.³ Lester was raised by the family, and Vester, who was healthier, was taken in by a neighbor family; The neighbor family later moved away in the middle of the night.³
