Mr. Raymond E. Hinshaw, age 79 of Winchester, went to be with the Lord at his home in the early morning hours of November 1, 2009. Mr. Hinshaw was retired from the Carpenters Union and will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather and a generous and caring man who loved all people. A born again Christian, he was an active member of Oaklawn Baptist Church where he and his loving wife, Tiny operated the Oaklawn Thrift Store. A native of Huntland, Mr. Hinshaw was born to the late George Washington Hinshaw and Lucy Hill Hinshaw who precede him in death along with his siblings. Mr. Hinshaw is survived by his wife. Tiny; children, Gary (Carolyne) Hinshaw of Estill Springs, George (LeAnn) Hall of Winchester, David (Joan) Hinshaw of Estill Springs, Darlene Champion of Winchester, Carolyn (William) Hill, Nancy (Tom) Hill and Laura (Mike) Tipps, all of Estill Springs and Mark (Lolene) Hinshaw of Winchester; 16 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. The funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday November 3, 2009 from the chapel of Watson-North Funeral Home with Rev. Ray Gardner officiating. Interment will follow at Franklin Memorial Gardens with grandsons serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be Monday November 2, 2009 from 4-9 p.m. Mr. Hinshaw's family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Avalon Hospice for their support and compassion during the time of Mr. Hinshaw's illness.
