Kirk Lee Hinshaw, age 44, Minister of Music, First United Methodist Church, Elgin, Texas, died Saturday, August 9, 2008.  Memorial service 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, First United Methodist Church, Elgin, Texas.  Kirk is preceded in death by his brothers, Kevin and Kelly Hinshaw.  Survivors include his parents, Galen and Cordelia Hinshaw, Rose Hill, KS; sister and brother- in-law, Karen and Jerry Staley, Emporia, KS; nephew, Travis Spires; nieces, Lorissa Hinshaw and Elizabeth Brooks and her husband, Lucas.  A memorial has been established with First United Methodist Church Music Department, Elgin, TX; and or Friends University Music Scholarship Fund, 2100 W. University St., Wichita, KS 67213.  Smith Mortuary, Derby, KS, in charge of arrangements.
