Rock Rd., Derby.  Preceded in death by brothers, Kevin and Kelly.  Survivors: parents, Galen and Cordelia Hinshaw of Rose Hill; sister, Karen (Jerry) Staley of Emporia; nephew, Travis Spires; nieces, Lorissa Hinshaw, Elizabeth (Lucas) Brooks.  Memorial established with Friends University Music Scholarship Fund.  Send condolences and view tributes via

Kirk Lee Hinshaw, age 44, Minister of Music, First United Methodist Church, Elgin, Texas, died Saturday, August 9, 2008.  Memorial service 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, First United Methodist Church, Elgin, Texas.  Kirk is preceded in death by his brothers, Kevin and Kelly Hinshaw.  Survivors include his parents, Galen and Cordelia Hinshaw, Rose Hill, KS; sister and brother- in-law, Karen and Jerry Staley, Emporia, KS; nephew, Travis Spires; nieces, Lorissa Hinshaw and Elizabeth Brooks and her husband, Lucas.  A memorial has been established with First United Methodist Church Music Department, Elgin, TX; and or Friends University Music Scholarship Fund, 2100 W. University St., Wichita, KS 67213.  Smith Mortuary, Derby, KS, in charge of arrangements.
