HAVILAND - Laverne C. Hinshaw, 83, died June 27, 2000, at Mennonite Friendship Manor, Hutchinson.
He was born July 26, 1916, at Wichita, the son of Orval L. and Ethel C. Craft Hinshaw. A resident of Hutchinson since 1990, he was a retired farmer.
He was a member of Haviland Friends Church and American Legion Post No. 157, both at Haviland. He was a World War II Army Air Corps veteran.
On June 2, 1940, he married Ruby G. Ellis at Haviland. She survives.
Other survivors include: two sons and their wives, Keith and Linda, Haviland, and Gail and Sheila, Springfield, Mo.; two brothers, Virgil and Verlin Hinshaw, both of Wichita; two grandsons, Darren Hinshaw, Springfield, Mo., and Todd Hinshaw and his wife, Teri, McPherson; a granddaughter and her husband, Lisa and Gerald Green, Ozark, Mo.; and a great-granddaughter, Dakota Green, Ozark, Mo.
Memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Mennonite Friendship Manor, Hutchinson. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at Larrison Mortuary, Pratt. Graveside service will be at 3 p.m. Friday in Haviland Cemetery, Haviland, with the Rev. John Otto presiding. Military rites will be by Fort Riley Military Honor.
Memorials may be sent to Barclay College or Mennonite Friendship Manor, both in care of the mortuary.

SOUTH HUTCHINSON- Ruby Geraldine Hinshaw, 92, died Monday, April 11, 2011 at Mennonite Manor in South Hutchinson, Kansas. She was born May 08, 1918 in Jetmore, Kansas the daughter of Lee and Lola (Usselman) Ellis. On June 2, 1940, she married Laverne C. Hinshaw in Haviland, Kansas. He preceded her in death in June 2000.
She was a member of the Haviland Friends Church.
Survivors include two sons, Keith (Linda) Hinshaw, Haviland, KS, and Gail (Sheila) Hinshaw, Springfield, MO; two grandsons, Darren Hinshaw, Frisco, TX, and Todd (Sarah) Hinshaw, Wichita, KS; a granddaughter, Lisa Green, Ozark, MO; a great grandson, Derringer Green; and 2 great granddaughters, Roxy Hinshaw and Dakota Green.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Evah Sundgren and Anna Helen Amerine.
Visitation will be held Thursday, April 14, 2011 from 9:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Larrison Mortuary. Memorial service at graveside in Haviland Community Cemetery will be held on Friday, April 15, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. Donnie Hinshaw will be officiating. Burial will be in the Haviland Community Cemetery in Haviland.
