On Jun 5 1917 Porter Gaddis Henshaw, age 30, registered for the World War I draft in Fayette County, Pennsylvania. He declared he was born Aug 14 1886 in West Leisenring, [Fayette County,] Pennsylvania, and he was then residing in Waltersburg, [Fayette County,] Pennsylvania where he had a wife and two children, and was a stone mason employed by Simpson Supply Co. of Brownsville. He was recorded as tall, stout, gray eyes, black hair.⁹
