At Marlborough MM on 9-6-1832, Quinton's family was granted a certificate to New Garden MM, Wayne County, Indiana.14  

At West Grove MM (Indiana) in 1 Mo. 1833, Quinton & father John were received on a certificate from Marlborough MM, N.C., at New Garden MM & endorsed over to West Grove MM.11  

At West Grove MM in 12-1833, Quinton & father John were granted a certificate to New Garden MM.11  

Quinton was shown in the 1850 census, Greensboro Township, Henry County, Indiana, living in the household of his uncle Cyrus, as follows:15

Cyrus Henshaw, age 27, born in North Carolina; carpenter; $1000 real estate.
Martha [sic] Henshaw, age 26, born in North Carolina.
Quinton Henshaw, age 19, born in North Carolina.
William Bowman, age 15, born in Indiana.

He married Rachel C. Polk, Dec 30 1852, Henry County, Indiana.1,2,16  Rachel, daughter of Robert Polk & Hannah Hodgin, was born Sep 9 1830, Greensboro, North Carolina.1,2,3,6,7,9,12,17  

Duck Creek MM, on 8-23-1855, recorded "Quinton Hinshaw, Duck Creek PM, informed us he had married contrary to discipline.  He being a member of Back Creek MM, that meeting was informed.  Back Creek requested this meeting to treat with him but they had no satisfaction & he was disowned by Back Creek MM on 4-24-1856."11  

Back Creek MM, on 9-13-1855, recorded "Quintan married contrary to discipline; complaint from Duck Creek MM, Indiana; disowned 3-13-1856".18

Rachel's death was reported in "The Indianapolis Star" (Indianapolis, Indiana) on Tuesday, February 14, 191122 (see scan below).
