She married Merle Arthur Nickel, May 11 1922.3,6,7  Merle, son of William E. Nickel & Callie B. Jackson, was born Mar 22 1894, Portsmouth, Scioto County, Ohio.3,6,8  (Jackson, Ohio).9

Merle had been previously married to a -- Story, then divorced.6,8  

On Jun 5 1917 Merle Arthur Nickel, age 23, had registered for the World War I draft in Portsmouth, Scioto County, Ohio.  He declared he was born March 22 1894 in Portsmouth, Ohio, and was then married and a steel worker.  He was recorded as slender, blue eyes, brown hair.8

In 1942 Merle Arthur Nickel, age 48, registered for the World War II draft in West Virginia.  He declared he was born March 22 1894 in Jackson, Ohio, and was then residing at 3125 5th Ave., Huntington, West Virginia, where he was a self-employed linoleum layer.  He declared a contact relative was Edith M. Nickel, 430 20th St., Huntington.  He was recorded as 6'0" tall, 160 lbs., brown eyes, black hair, light complexion.9  

Merle died Feb - 1964, Orange County, Florida.5  

In 1990 Garnet was living in Orlando, Orange County, Florida.1  

Garnet S. Hanshaw died May 30 1990, Orange County, Florida; age 86.1,5
