On May 1 1861 Robert S. Henshaw enlisted as a Private in Company G, 7th Virginia Infantry. Promoted to full Corporal Apr 26 1862; wounded on May 5 1862 at Williamsburg, Virginia; promoted to full Sergeant on Jun 1 1863; reported AWOL on Aug 1 1863; court-martialed on Dec 10 1863 and ordered two months pay forfeited; reduded to Private on Dec 15 1863. Noted for "Distinguished Service".10
He married Pamily Virginia Weakley4,11 [Emily -2], Feb 13 18674,11 [about 18693]. Pamily, daughter of Wesley Weakley & Edna Yowell, was born Oct 20 1846, Virginia.2,3,4,6,7,12
