Son Charles, born well before James and Caroline were married, had been shown in the 1860 census (Jun 2 1860), living with Caroline and her parents and family in Centreville, Wayne County, Indiana:¹⁵

James and family were shown in the 1870 census (Jun 6 1870), White River Township, Randolph County, Indiana:²

At Chester MM on 4-23-1874, James M. Hinshaw & wife Caroline & son Daniel B. were received in membership.³

The Chester MM membership list of 12 Mo. 1878 lists Madison Hinshaw, Caroline Hinshaw, and Robert Hinshaw.³

James and family were shown in the 1880 census (Jun 2 1880), Wayne Township, Wayne County, Indiana:⁵

At Chester MM on 10-20-1886, James M. Hinshaw was "released on request"³ (perhaps he had joined another church).

James Madison Hinshaw died Apr 4 1888, Chester, Wayne County, Indiana; age 56.^10,11,17

At Chester MM on 9-22-1898, Caroline M. Hinshaw was granted a certificate to Whitewater MM.³

At Whitewater MM on 10-27-1898, Caroline M. Hinshaw was received on a certificate from Chester MM.³

At Whitewater MM on 4-7-1902, Caroline M. Hinshaw "set off with S. 8th St. MM".³

Caroline was shown in the 1910 census (Apr 16 1910), 100 South 6th St., Richmond, Wayne County, Indiana:¹⁶

Caroline died Jul 16 1910, Richmond, Wayne County, Indiana; buried Crown Hill Cemetery, Centerville, Wayne County, Indiana.^11,18
