JACKSON - James Glendon Henshaw, 53, soil conservationist agent, died of heart failure Monday at his home. Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Lawrence-Sorensen Funeral Home with burial at 11 a.m. Friday at Farm Hill Cemetery in Harrisburg, Ark. He was a member of Englewood Baptist Church, Toastmasters, worked with the Donor Awareness Program, and received the 1,000 Points of Light for Organ Awareness. Mr. Henshaw, the husband of Joyce Henshaw, also leaves two daughters, Sharon Schoenberg of Memphis and Glenda Henshaw of Jackson; a stepdaughter, Lisa Hoeckel of Texas; a stepson, Jason Winbush of Jackson; his mother, Velva Henshaw of Jackson; a brother, Richard Henshaw of Memphis, two grandchildren and three stepgrandchildren. The family requests that any memorials be sent to University of Tennessee William F. Bowld Transplant Center.

James Glendon "Jim" Henshaw, 53, of Jackson, TN, died Monday (Dec. 27, 1999) at his home. A Harrisburg native, he was a soil conservationist agent and was a member of Englewood Baptist Church in Jackson. He was named Outstanding Young Farmer in AR in 1970, and was a Jaycees International senator, a member of Toastmasters and served as chairman of Jackson's Christmas Parade. He was named recipient of former President George Bush's 1000 points of Light award for his work with organ donor awareness.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce Henshaw of the home; two daughters, Sharon Schoenberg of Memphis and Glenda Henshaw of Jackson; one stepdaughter, Lisa Hoeckel of TX; one stepson, Jason Winbush of Jackson; his mother, Velva Henshaw of Jackson; one brother, Richard Henshaw of Memphis; two grandchildren and three step grandchildren. He was preceded by death by his father, Jessie Glenn Henshaw, and one sister. Funeral services will be held at 1 this afternoon in the chapel of Lawrence-Sorensen Funeral Home in Jackson, with Dr. Phillip Jett officiating. A graveside service is scheduled for Friday morning at 11 at the Farm Hill Cemetery near Harrisburg. J.P. McClain, Dennis Halley, Dwayne Parker, Robert Williams, J.O. Davis and Robert Boren will serve as pallbearers. The family requests that persons wishing to leave a lasting memorial consider the Univ. of Tennessee William F. Bowld Transplant Center.
