Born Mar 12 1814, Tennessee.1,2,3
She married James Bushong.4 James, son of Henry Bushong & Isabelle Summers, was born Jul 13 1801, Kentucky.2,4
Children:1,2
Eliza Ann Bushong, born 1848, Benton County, Missouri; believed to have died in 1878; married William Woods Foster, Feb 21 1869, Benton County, Missouri.
4,5
James Bushong, born c1854, Missouri.
Note: The 1850 & 1860 census records show additional children, but those census years did not definitively show parent/child relationships. It is believed that additional children Henry, Bird, Abigail and Mary were children of James' brother, John Bushong, and his wife Rebecca Hale.6,7 Henry's death certificate indeed states his parents were John Bushong & Rebecca Hale.8
Mary Ann and family were shown in the 1850 census (Nov 12 1850), Benton County, Missouri:1
James Bushon, age 40, born in Kentucky; farmer.
Mary Bushon, age 36, born in Tennessee.
Henry Bushon, age 13, born in Missouri.
Bird Bushon, male, age 11, born in Missouri.
A Bushon, age 8, born in Missouri.
Mary Bushon, age 6, born in Missouri.
E A Bushon, age 2, born in Missouri.
L Bushon, female, age 20, born in Kentucky.
Jane Bushon, age 18, born in Illinois.
Mary Ann and family were shown in the 1860 census (Jun 15 1860), Benton County, Missouri:2
James Bushong, age 58, born in Kentucky; farmer; $360 real estate; $818 personal property; cannot read or write.
Mary Bushong, age 46, born in Tennessee; cannot read or write.
Henry Bushong, age 22, born in Missouri; $152 personal property.
Bird Bushong, male, age 20, born in Missouri; cannot read or write.
Abigail Bushong, age 17, born in Missouri.
Mary Bushong, age 15, born in Missouri.
Eliza Bushong, age 11, born in Missouri.
James Bushong, age 6, born in Missouri.
She then married George Wolford, Jr.3,9 George was born Jul 3 1810.9
Child:
Emaline Wolford, born Nov 24 1835; died Apr 8 1907, buried Wolford Cemetery; married Jacob Roger Barger (children: John William L., Mary Belle, Henry Thomas, and Annie Charlotte Barger).
10
George died Jun 20 1878, buried Wolford Cemetery, Blountville, Sullivan County, Tennessee.9
Mary Ann Hancher died May 9 1884, buried Wolford Cemetery, Blountville, Sullivan County, Tennessee.3
Note: there seems to be a conflict/inconsistency with the above reported marriages and children. Daughter Emaline Wolford was born in 1835, before any of the Bushong children; this might indicate that the marriage to George Wolford occured before the marriage to James Bushong. However Mary Ann's gravestone is inscribed Wolford, seeming to indicate that her last/final marriage was to George Wolford (if these two marriages indeed belong to this Mary Ann). Also, Mary Ann Wolford is buried in Tennessee, yet Mary Ann Bushong and family were shown in the 1860 census in Benton County, Missouri. It seems likely that these are two different Mary Anns (and uncertain which, if either, might actually be this Mary Ann Hancher).
