Bertha's marriage was announced in "The Evening News" (San Jose, California) on April 25, 1922:i

Alfred C. Eaton and Miss Bertha E. Henshaw, both well known in this city, were quietly married at 10:30 this morning at the residence of Rev. Dr. H.M. Campbell of the First Presbyterian Church.    Immediately after the ceremony the couple motored down to Monterey, where they have engaged a cottage for their honeymoon.    Both are exceedingly prominent.

Eaton will be remembered to residents of this city as the one who opened up and subdivided the Palm Haven district in San Jose.    At the present time he is in no active but owns large mining intereests.

Alfred died Sep 1 1928, Santa Clara County, California; age 55.h

Widow Bertha was shown in the 1930 census, 985 East Santa Clara St., San Jose, Santa Clara County, California:b

Eaton, Bertha, head-of-household, age 47, born in California; father born in North Carolina; mother born in Missouri; widow; owned home ($10,000 value); occupation: none.

In May 1967 Bertha was living in the Mt. Pleasant Convalescent Home.d

Bertha E. Henshaw died Jan 5 1973, Santa Clara County, California; age 90; buried section G5, block 15, lot 2, Mission City Memorial Park, 420 N. Winchester Boulevard, Santa Clara, California.209,c,j

Bertha is buried in the same plot as her parents and brother Daniel,226 although Bertha is the only one with a gravestone.j
