Lessie Frazier Henshaw, age 79, of Ocean Springs, MS passed away November 9, 2004 in Ocean Springs. Services are pending at MARSHALL FUNERAL HOME.

Mrs. Lessie Mae Bell Frazier Henshaw, age 79, departed this life on November 9, 2004, in Ocean Springs, MS. She was born on May 10, 1925, to the late Rev. Ed Frazier and Mrs. Carrie Frazier Smith. She joined in marriage with Mr. Clarence Henshaw in 1953.
Mrs. Henshaw was a former member of First Baptist Church of Handsboro and Macedonia Baptist Church of Ocean Springs, where she sang in the No. 3 Choir and the Senior Choir. She was an active member with Miracle Temple ACOP Church of Biloxi, where she joyfully played the guitar.
God gave her a beautiful gift in her love of music, which she never tired in sharing. Mrs. Henshaw was the creator of The Gospel Singers on WLOX-TV. She also was a member of both the City Wide Singing Convention and the Gulf Coast Singing Convention, The Queens of Harmony, and The Bells of Joy. She organized The Morning Stars, which came to be known as Praising God Gospel Singers.
She led a very active and fulfilled life with hobbies including fishing as well as singing and playing guitar. She was employed with several coastal businesses during her career years, including The Buena Vista Hotel, Keesler AFB, Ingalls Shipbuilding, and several local seafood factories.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Saddie Mae Miles, and her brother, Leo Frazier, Sr.
She will be lovingly missed by her devoted husband of 51 years, Clarence Henshaw of Ocean Springs; her lovely daughter, Wanda Fay Henshaw of Ocean Springs; three nephews, Eddie John Dees, Sr., of Theodore, AL, Leo Frazier, Jr., of MS and Henry Dees of LA; four nieces, Mary, Carrie Mae, Vera B. Frazier, all of LA, and Rosa Frazier; of Maryland; a sister-in-law, Liz Frazier of Ohio.
Services will be held at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, in Ocean Springs, on Tuesday, November 16, 2004 at 7 p.m., where Rev. Dr. Jesse Trotter will deliver the eulogy. Visitation will be at the church two hours prior to the service. Burial will be Wednesday, November 17, 2004 at Biloxi National Cemetery.
