Mary died Aug 1 2003, Evansville, Vanderburgh County, Indiana; buried Pythian Ridge Cemetery.^2,7  

Ruth's obituary was published in the "Union County Advocate" on August 6, 2003:^2,8

Ruth Griggs Henshaw of the Henshaw community, died at 11 a.m. Friday, August 1, 2003 at the Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Ind., following open heart surgery.   Mrs. Henshaw was a member of the Sturgis Church of Christ.   Before marriage, she worked for the telephone company.   She was preceded in death by her parents, Bobbie and Ida Griggs, two sisters Willie Claire Griggs and Margaret "Mog" Wilkerson and a brother Benny Griggs.   Survivors include her husband of 56 years Kenneth; two sons, J.K. and Bonnie of Louisville and Jerry and Marie of Henderson; and one daughter Pam and Vince Braddock of the Henshaw community; one sister Evelyn Schieber of Amarillo, Texas; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and nieces and nephews.   Funeral services were held Sunday, Aug. 3, at the Whitsell Funeral Home in Sturgis with Daniel Askew officiating.  Burial was in the Pythian Ridge Cemetery.   In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Henshaw Christian Church vision fund or to Union County St. Anthony's Hospice.
