Born Jan 3 1891, Goes Station, Xenia Township, Greene County, Ohio.1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10  

On Jun 5 1917 Clifford Henshaw, age 26, registered for the World War I draft in Springfield, Clark County, Ohio.  He declared he was born Jan 3 1891 in Greene County, Ohio, and was then residing at 220 So. Yello Spring, occupied as a printer, single, without dependents, and no previous military experience.  He was recorded as medium height, slender, brown eyes, dark brown hair.4  

On Oct 4 1917 Clifford enlisted in the U.S. Army.  He served in Battery T, 324th Field Artillery until his discharge; Private, first class 6 July 1918.  Meuse-Argonne.  American Expeditionary Forces 12 June 1918 to 22 May 1919.  Honorable discharge 5 June 1919.10,11  His enlistment record shows he was 26 years 9 months old upon enlistment, his residence being 220 Yellow Spring St., Springfield, Ohio.10,11  On the same date of enlistment his brother Clarence also enlisted.10,11  

He married Mary H. Dalzell, Aug 29 1924, Miami County, Ohio.6,8,12,13,14,15  Mary, daughter of Thomas L. Dalzell & Lillie/Lilly Cantieny, was born about 1902, Delphos, Allen County, Ohio.6,8,12,13,14,16,17  

Clifford and Mary were shown in the 1930 census (Apr 19 1930), 1110 W. Main St., Troy, Miami County, Ohio:6

Henshaw, Clifford, head-of-household, age 39, born in Ohio; parents born in Ohio; first married at age 34; rented home ($40 rent); radio in home; occupation: printer, printing office; not a war veteran.
Henshaw, Mary H., wife, age 28, born in Ohio; father born in Ohio; mother born in Missouri; first married at age 23; occupation: bookkeeper, grain elevator.

On Apr 27 1942 Clifford Henshaw, age 51, registered for the World War II draft in Troy, Miami County, Ohio.  He declared he was born Jan. 3 1891 in Greene County, Ohio, and was then residing at 104 Ridge Ave., Troy, Ohio, a self-employed printer.  He declared his relative/contact was his wife, Mrs. Mary D. Henshaw of the same address.  He was recorded as 5'8" tall, 175 lbs., brown eyes, brown hair, ruddy complexion.7  

Mary died May 10 1958, Troy, Miami County, Ohio; age 56.8,18  Ohio death certificate #36791.8  

Mary was killed when hit by a car.  Mary's death was reported in "The Coshocton Tribune" (Coshocton, Ohio) on Monday evening, May 12, 1958:18

Troy: Mrs. Mary Henshaw, 57, Troy, killed and her husband critically injured when hit by a car as they walked home from the grocery store.

In 1967 Clifford was still living in Troy, Miami County, Ohio.8,9  

Clifford P. Henshaw died Mar 17 1967, Clark County, Ohio; age 76.8,9  Ohio death certificate #16339.8
