Hattie L. Henshaw, 90, passed from this life in Checotah on Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2008. Hattie was born January 16, 1919 at Soda Springs, OK to John and Virgie (McIntosh) Henshaw. She was a graduate of Checotah High School and retired from the A & P Retail Stores in California after 35 years. Hattie was a member of the First Baptist Church after her return from California, and was an active member with the Checotah Indian Community. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Anna Tangney and Aline Henry, and one brother, Pete Henshaw.
Survivors include her sister, Mary Armstrong of Checotah, nephews, Ron McDaniels of Jenks and Larry Armstrong of Broken Arrow; niece, Joan Holladay of Paris, TX; and a cousin Anna L. Davisson of Checotah.
Funeral services for Hattie Henshaw will be held on Tuesday, January 22, 2008 in the Hampton Memorial Chapel with Rev. Steve Dennis officiating. Casket bearers will be Lloyd Dupler, Lloyd Myers, Bob Hogan, DeWayne Matthews, Jerry Faught and Norris Garrison. Interment will follow in the Greenlawn Cemetery, Checotah.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Hampton Mortuary, Checotah, 918-473-6821.
