On Oct 19 1942 Charles T. Hinshaw, born 1911 in Indiana, enlisted in Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, Ohio as a private in the U.S. Army.  He declared he was then a resident of Cuyahoga County, Ohio, had three years of high school, was single, without dependents, and employed as a "gas and oil man".  He was recorded as 67" tall, 174 lbs.8  

During World War II Charles served as a PFC in the 687th Engineering Equipment Company.7  

He married Emily McLean.1,9  Emily, daughter of Edward + Ellen McLean, was born Feb 1 1914, Ohio.4,9,10  

Charles T. Hinshaw died Sep 9 1961, at his home, Ashtabula County, Ohio; age 49.1,4,7,9  

Emily died Jun 20 1990, at her home, Ashtabula County, Ohio; age 76.4,9
