On Apr 27 1942 Richard Marion Hinshaw, age 61, registered for the World War II draft in Monticello, White County, Indiana.  He declared he was born 6-27-1880 in White County, Indiana, and was then residing in Monticello, Indiana where he was unemployed.  He declared his relative/contact was Willia [sic] Hinshaw of Monticello.  He was recorded as 6' tall, 193 lbs., blue eyes, red hair, light complexion.10  

The following article was published in the "Logansport Pharos Tribune" (Logansport, Indiana) on March 15, 1957:13

Mr. and Mrs. Richard Hinshaw, who reside eight miles north of Monticello quietly celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary on March 7th.  

In the evening their children, Mrs. Pearl Manes, Willis Hinshaw, and Verlie Hinshaw and their families spent the evening with their parents and brought ice cream and cake.  A neighbor, Mrs. Brooks and son, were dinner guests at the Hinshaw home.  

Richard Hinshaw and Ella Ballard were married at the home of the bride on the former Al Bowsher farm on the Buffalo Pike.  Mr. Hinshaw spent 57 years of his life on the farm where they now reside.

In 1969 Elizabeth was living in/near Monticello, White County, Indiana.14  

Ella died Jan - 1969.14
