Born Sep 24 1937, Yadkin County, North Carolina.2,6,7

He married Hazel Beatrice Reece.2,5  Hazel, daughter of Edward Reece & Vernie Jester, was born Sep 13 1939.2,5

At times in his younger years Tommy was involved in the moonshine whisky business with some of his Jester cousins.5  On one occasion, he and Walter Jester unloaded a load of moonshine whisky and moved part of it to two other vehicles, this being done in the parking lot of Howard's Grill (a local eating establishment) while two members of the Yadkin County Sheriff's Department and a member of the North Carolina State Highway Patrol all ate dinner at the Restaurant.5  He also related hiding many cases of moonshine whisky in his basement for his Jester cousins who were running from the law.  They were bold in their activites to the extreme.  At one time Tommy and his cousins had a moonshine whisky still less than 150 yards behind the Union Cross Friends Church in Yadkin County.  The good Quakers were unaware of the still being there for a long time.5

Tommy was the owner of Hinshaw's Exxon and grocery on Highway 67 near Boonville, North Carolina.5

Thomas Henry "Tommy" Hinshaw died May 15 2001, Forsyth Medical Center, Winston-Salem, Forsyth County, North Carolina.2,5,6,7,8
