JAMESTOWN -- Mrs. Eula Burgette Carrigan Hinshaw, 72, resident of Misty Waters Lane, died Thursday, Nov. 25, 2004, at High Point Regional Hospital. The funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday in First Reformed United Church of Christ by the Rev. Donald L. Stevenson. Interment will follow in Floral Garden Park Cemetery. Mrs. Hinshaw will remain at Sechrest Funeral Service, 1301 E. Lexington Ave. until placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the service.
Mrs. Hinshaw was born in Sampson County on Nov. 24, 1932, the daughter of James Robert and Eliza Branch Burgette. She had been a resident of the Greensboro, High Point, and Jamestown area most of her life. She was active in the Singles Square Dance Club and the Tempo Ballroom Dance Club. Mrs. Hinshaw enjoyed gardening and loved her flowers and crafting. Her greatest love was for her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Hinshaw was a member of the First Reformed United Church of Christ on English Road. On June 15,1991 she married Rayborn Freeman Hinshaw, who survives of the home.
Also surviving are two sons, Johnnie Edward Miller and wife, Judy of Summerfield and the Rev. Bob Miller and wife, Jeanne of Andrews; eight sisters, Nancy Brown, Myrtis Westbrook, Grey Britt, Lexie Lewis, and Carolyn Sessoms all of Clinton, Ruth Bullard of Fayetteville, Marie Stephenson of Angier, and Hazel Sherman of Ala.; three brothers, Robert Burgette of Jacksonville, Fla.; David and Ellis Burgette both of Salemburg; five grandchildren, Jennifer Stringer of Randleman, Jason Miller of Japan, Jeff Miller of Asheville, Michelle Bonifant of Greensboro and Shannan Miller of Boone; six great-grandchildren, Robert, Sarah, and Isaac Stringer, David and Derick Miller and Kimberly Bonifant.
Visitation will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today.

Rayborn Freeman Hinshaw Mr. Rayborn Freeman Hinshaw, age 81, of Jamestown died May 8, 2007, at his residence.
Mr. Hinshaw was born in Alamance County to John Benjamin and Willie Andrews Hinshaw. He was a graduate of NC State University. During World War II, Mr. Hinshaw served in the US Army Infantry during the Battle of the Bulge. He was awarded three Campaign Ribbons and three Battle Stars, and the Bronze Star Medal. Upon his retirement from the Army Reserves, he had attained the rank of Lt. Col. as part of the 422nd Civil Affairs Company. He retired in 1989 from Sears Roebuck, Inc., where he had served as regional service manager. Mr. Hinshaw was a member of First Reformed United Church of Christ, where he served on many committees, and was teacher of the Men's Sunday School Class. He was a former professor at Pembroke State University, former member and past president of the High Point Civitan Club, and was active in the Singles Square Dance Club and the Tempo Ballroom Dance Club.
On June 15, 1991 he married the former Eula Burgette, who preceded him in death on November 25, 2004.
Also surviving are his daughter, Susan Hinshaw Bodsford of Walkertown; and his sons, John C. Hinshaw and wife, Patricia of Sophia, and Gary F. Hinshaw of Jamestown. Also surviving are two grandchildren; six great- grandchildren; and five step-grandchildren; one niece; one nephew; two great-nieces; and one great-nephew.
The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Friday, at First Reformed United Church of Christ by the Reverend Donald D. Stevenson and Pastor Barney Law. Interment, with military honors, will follow at Pleasant Hill Christian Church Cemetery in Liberty.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 8:30 p.m., Thursday evening, at Sechrest Funeral Service on E. Lexington Avenue in High Point.
