GEORGE F. HANSHAW
Died Sep 12, 1985

George Franklin Hanshaw, 47, of Cairo, died at his home Thursday morning following a long illness.  

He was born in Parkersburg to William W. Hanshaw of Cairo and the late Mable McCoy Hanshaw.  He was employed by Commercial Drywall Construction, was a member of Local 899 United Brotherhood of Carpenters and a former fire chief of Cairo Volunteer Fire Department.  

He is survived by his wife, Emma Cross Hanshaw; one son, George F. Hanshaw II of Cairo; three daughters, Brenda Sams, Sharon Skidmore and Michele Hanshaw, all of Cairo; four brothers, John Hanshaw of Vienna, Robert Hanshaw of Cairo, Donald Hanshaw and Gary Hanshaw of Waverly; and two sisters, Virginia Hill of Newport and Mary McGraw of Kentucky.  

Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Franklin Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Ernest F. Marty officiating.  Burial will be in Burnt Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery in Wood County.
