The daughter of the late John Peter and Nona Belle (Hill) Wickerham, she was born July 29, 1915, in Peru, Ind. She was the widow of Glendon Reeves Hinshaw, whom she married July 4, 1946. He died Dec. 28, 2002.
Hinshaw was a clerk with the Indiana Employment Security Division for five years and had been a receptionist in the Mooresville offices of Robert VanBokkelan MD, Barnard Karpel MD and Travis Bauer DDS.
She was a member and past deacon of the First Christian Church in Mooresville, where she was also past president of the Christian Women’s Fellowship. She was a member of Tri-Kappa Sorority and was three time past president of Mooresville VFW Post 111 Ladies Auxiliary; past District 7 president of VFW Ladies Auxiliary and past state president of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary.
She was a World War II Navy veteran, serving as a naval communication intelligence specialist.
Other survivors include a daughter, Patti Jean Smith, Mooresville; grandson, Robin Wayne Smith, Mooresville, and granddaughter, Leah Frost, and four great-grandchildren.
A daughter, Judy Elizabeth Hinshaw, and a brother, Gration P. Wickerham, also preceded her in death.
The service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2005, at Carlisle & Son Funeral Chapel in Mooresville. The Rev. Kelly Whitehurst will officiate. Burial will be in White Lick Cemetery in Mooresville.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2005, at Carlisle & Son Funeral Chapel in Mooresville.

Friends may call 4-8 P.M., Tuesday, November 29, 2005 at the funeral chapel. The State VFW Ladies Auxiliary will conduct a memorial service at 7:00 P.M. during visitation. Burial with Military Gravesite Rites will follow the funeral service in White Lick Cemetery, Mooresville, Indiana. The family has suggested memorial contributions may made in Jean's name to Homeless Veterans, c/o Richard Roudebush Regional VA Medical Center, 1481 West 10th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46202.
