Vivian I. Hinshaw SUMMITVILLE -- Vivian I. Hinshaw, 86, died May 3, 2003, at Community Hospital Anderson after a brief illness.
She was born April 9, 1917, in Delaware County, the daughter of John and Bertha (Little) Clock, and lived most of her life in Summitville.
She had worked as a clerk at the McMahan & Son Hardware store, formerly in Summitville, and was a homemaker.
She attended Summitville United Methodist Church. She was gifted and skilled in sewing and crocheting and found great pleasure and comfort in her work and in giving items she created to family and friends.
Survivors include her son, Mike (wife, Vickie) Hinshaw of Summitville; two grandsons, Todd (wife, Karen) Hinshaw of Van Buren and Eric (wife, Tisha) Hinshaw of Fishers; two great-grandchildren, Makenzie Hinshaw and Victoria Hinshaw; and several nieces and nephews, including Wannitta Riser of Yorktown and Vernie Junior Clock of Gaston.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Bertha (Little) Clock; her husband, Glen Hughes Hinshaw, who died in 1996; two brothers, Wesley Clock and Vernie Clock; and a sister, Hazel Clock.
Graveside services and burial will take place at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Vinson Memorial Cemetery, Summitville, officiated by the Rev. Nathan Lutterman of First Christian Church, Summitville.
Visitation will be at Owens-Noffze Funeral Home, 1009 W. Walnut St., Summitville, today from 5 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from noon until time to leave for the service at the cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to First Christian Church or to the Van Buren Township Fire Department through the funeral home.
