It appears that Louisa and John were divorced or separated, or perhaps John might have died in the 1860s, as Louisa's children seem to have adopted the name Henshaw, and Louisa and children were shown in the 1870 census (Jun 6 1870), living with her parents in Louisa County, Virginia:2
