Born Feb 18 1920, Wetumka, Seminole County, Oklahoma.4,5,6  (Feb 19 1920).7  

On Sep 16 1940 Roscoe Henshaw, born 1920 in Oklahoma, American Indian, enlisted at Wewoka, Oklahoma in the U.S. National Guard, Field Artillery.  He declared he had two years of high school, was single, without dependents; occupation: geographer.  He was recorded as 70" tall.  On the same day brother Roley also enlisted.8  

He married Pauline King, Kansas.4  

Pauline died 1986.3  

In 1993-2000 Roscoe was living in Shawnee, Pottawatomie County, Oklahoma.6,7,9  

Roscoe E. Henshaw died Dec 25 2000, buried Spring Baptist Church Cemetery, Sasakwa, Seminole County, Oklahoma.4,6  

Roscoe's death was noted in the "Seminole Producer" on December 28, 2000:10

Roscoe HENSHAW

Funeral services for the brother of two Wewoka residents, Roscoe Henshaw of Shawnee, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday at Stout Chapel with Bro. Ed George officiating.  

Interment is to follow the services at Spring Baptist Church Cemetery in Sasakwa under the direction of Stout Funeral Home.  

A wake service was held Saturday evening at Stout Chapel.  

Henshaw was born on Feb. 18, 1920 in Wetumka to Thomas and Lucy (Micco) Henshaw.  

He was raised in the Wewoka area and attended Bowlegs Schools.  

On Sept. 16, 1940 he enlisted in the Oklahoma National Guard.  During World War II, his unit was activated by the U.S. Army.  

Henshaw was the recipient of the Bronze Star Medal and served in Italy, Germany and France.  

Following his discharge in 1945, he returned to Seminole County and married Pauline King in Kansas.  

He made hs residence in Seminole, Tulsa and Oklahoma City before moving to Shawnee where he remained until his death.  

Henshaw was a member of the Mekusukey Baptist Church of Seminole and was a auto body repairman.  

He retired in 1990 with 31 years of service with Norton Chevrolet in Shawnee.  

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife Ester in 1996.  

Henshaw is survived by three sons, Harry Henshaw; David Renick of Bartlesville and Randy Henshaw of Shawnee; six daughters, Irene Foster and Sue Henan, both of Oklahoma City, Janet Hodges of Bartlesville, Mary Ann Brisco of Hulbert, Cynthia Payton of Norman, and Debra Karns of Del City; four brothers and sisters, Roley Henshaw and Jasper Wise, both of Wewoka, and Sara Wise of Sapulpa; seven grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.  

Pallbearers are listed as Anthony Payton, Kris Karns, Frank Briscoe, David Hodges, Jeremy Henshaw, and Joshua Payton.  

Honorary pallbearers are Jonathan Hennan and Christopher Hennan.
