He married Cora Alma Beard1,2,3,9 [Cora Alma Bierd1,2], Aug 5 18931,2,3,9, Wayne County, Indiana1,2,3,9.  Cora Alma Beard, daughter of Henry Beard & Malissa Ann Hinshaw, was born Jul 12 1872, Randolph County, Indiana.1,3,4,7  Llewellyn and Cora were second cousins.  

At White River MM on 12-7-1895, Ewellyn [sic] & wife Cora were granted a certificate to Cherry Grove MM.1  

At Cherry Grove MM on 12-14-1895, Lewellyn & wife Cora A. were received on a certificate from White River MM.1  

At Cherry Grove MM on 11-13-1915, Louellan & wife Cora A. and children Marion Z., Thelma P., Howard, Grace Lucille, Ruby Fay, & George were granted a certificate to Dover MM.1  

At Dover MM on 11-24-1915, Lewellen & Cora & children Marion Z., Thlema, Paulina, Roy, Howard, Grace, Lucile, Ruba Fay, & George were received on a certificate from Cherry Grove MM.1

The following biography was published in the book "History of the Carter Family", pages 57-61, a contemporary (1924-1928) family history:9

"Llewellyn, the first born to Elza and Mary E, Hinshaw, and the first grandchild of Abslom and Eliza Hinshaw, was born near Snow Hill station on Sept. 2, 1870.  He obtained a fair education at No. 1 and old Shilo.  He was an industrious farmer boy and became a farmer by choice.  He was married when twenty-two years of age to Miss Cora Beard, a fine religious girl brought up in the home of Zimri and Esther Hinshaw.  This couple have since become the parents of eight children.  The first born died at the age of three months.  Those living are Marian, Thelma, Leroy, Howard, Grace, Ruby and George.  They are well to do farmers in Wayne County and are a happy family."

Cora Alma Beard died Dec 11 1941, age 69, reinterred 1942, Fountain Park Cemetery, Winchester, Randolph County, Indiana.3,10,11  

Cora's obituary was published in the Union City Times-Gazette on Saturday, December 13, 1941:10

Hinshaw rites Sunday at Williamsburg.  

Funeral services for Cora (Beard) Hinshaw, 69, who died Thursday night, will be conducted Sunday at 1:30 p. m. in the Williamsburg Friends church in charge of Rev. Emerson Cloyd of Brookville.  Burial will be in Mount Zion cemetery north of Lynn.  

Friends may call at the Thomas mortuary in Lynn anytime prior to the last rites.

Llewelen Hinshaw died May 1 1942, at his home, Williamsburg, Wayne County, Indiana; age 71.3,11  

Llewellyn's obituary was published in the Union City Times-Gazette on Monday, May 4, 1942:11

Hinshaw funeral this afternoon at Williamsburg.  

Funeral services for Llewellyn Hinshaw, 71, retired farmer who died at 11:55 p. m. Friday at his home in Williamsburg, will be conducted this afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Williamsburg Friends church in charge of Rev. Emerson Cloyd.  The body has been returned to the home from the Thomas mortuary at Lynn.  

Burial will be in Fountain Park cemetery.  The body of his wife, Cora, who died December 21, 1911 [sic], and which was buried at Mt. Zion will be disinterred and placed alongside that of her husband in the Winchester cemetery.  

Survivors are three daughters, Mrs. Thelma Duke and Mrs. Grace Ridenour of Williamsburg and Miss Ruby Faye Hinshaw, at home; four sons, Marion of Pittsburgh, Pa., Leroy of Xenia, Ohio, Howard of New York City and George of near Williamsburg; three brothers, Christopher of New Paris, Ohio, Clinton of near Centerville and Earl of Bluffton; seven sisters, Mrs. Laura Rowe, of Eaton, Ohio, Mrs. Lydia Rayle of Bentonville, Mrs. Evaline Glover of Bloomingsport; Mrs. Laticia Bond of Newberry, Mich.  Mrs. Myrtle Martin of Lynn, Mrs. Dollie Rusk of Centerville and Mrs. Hand Jennings of Richmond; 10 grandchildren.  

Mr. Hinshaw formerly lived in Randolph county.
