Heath, Walter Johnston "Wally" "John" Passed away December 10, 2014 at age 82. Walter was born August 9, 1932 in Vicksburg, MI to the late Harold and Grace (Johnston) Heath. After graduating from Kalamazoo Central High School, he moved to Chicago where he lived for 17 years. He was united in marriage to Margaret Henshaw Swain on September 9, 1972. Walter was employed with the U.S. Postal Service for 26 years until his retirement. Walter is survived by his wife, Margaret Heath; sister, Sally (Harry) Downing; cousins, Barbara Eldridge and Hattie Townsend; niece, Kelley Burrus; and many other family members. A funeral service will take place Monday, 2pm at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th St., where the family will greet friends for 1 hour prior to the service. KalamazooPassed away Sunday, December 28, 2014. Margaret was born in Kalamazoo, the daughter of the late John and Rena (Bestervelt) Henshaw and was a lifelong resident of the area. She was employed by Catholic Family Services for 23 years as an accountant and for 13 years, she had worked with the Girl Scouts of Kalamazoo. She was preceded by her first husband, G. Wendel Swain and her second husband, Walter Heath in December of 2014. Margaret is survived by her sister, Linda O'Brien of Galesburg; several nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held at the Milwood United Methodist Church, 3919 Portage Rd., on Friday, January 2, 2015 beginning at 10:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM in the church with Rev. Heather Molner, officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park, South. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Area Agency on Aging III A, 3299 Gull Road, Kalamazoo, MI 49048.
