It appears as though this Hanshew died sometime before 1850 as his family was shown in the 1850 census with no male head-of-household.^d He was also probably dead before 1847, as his father did not mention him in his will.^e

Lenna (apparently widowed) and family were shown in the 1850 census, Tazewell County, Virginia, living in the household of her mother-in-law, Eave:^d
