ALIQUIPPA

Evelyn Shirley (Hanshew) Casoli, of Aliquippa, died peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at the age of 87.  

She was born March 18, 1927, a daughter of the late Glenn and Mary (Kuhn) Hanshew and was a member of St. Titus Catholic Church and the Confraternity of Christian Mothers.  Evelyn enjoyed helping with the Sister's of St. Joseph harvest festival where she assisted with their flea market.  

Evelyn is survived by her husband, Otto Casoli, whom she would have been married to for 68 years on January 17th; her daughter, Carol Casoli, Aliquippa, with whom she resided; her sons and daughters-in-law, O.J. (Mary) Casoli, Southhaven, MS, and Darrell (Laura) Casoli, Aliquippa; her grandchildren, Heather (John) Cartwright, Regina (Ken) Kosela, Joseph (Jennifer) Trone, David (Namaah) Trone, Melissa (David) Jones, Jonathan Bryant, Meagan (Mark) Phillips, and Michael (Gina) Casoli; her great-grandchildren, Brandon (Terra) Cartwright, Zackary Cartwright, Sarah and Hanna Kosela, Joshua and Jacob Trone, Kaylee, Owen, and Mahlah Trone, Ashtan, Anayah and Alexus Phillips, and Samantha Jones; her great-great-grandchild, Jase Cartwright; her sisters, Annabelle Keppel and Geraldine Domitrovich; her sisters-in-law, Connie Hanshew and Eleanor Dematrakis, and a brother-in-law, Robert Casoli.  She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.  

In addition to her parents, Evelyn was preceded in death by her sisters, Ruth Otto and June Manolovich, and her brothers, Robert Hanshew and Glenn Hanshew.  

Evelyn was devoted to her family and spent many hours with them teaching them how to bake, crochet or cross stitch.  She will be missed by all.  

Friends will be received on Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. in the DARROCH MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 2640 Mill St., Aliquippa, www.darrochfuneralhome.com, where prayers will be offered on Saturday at 9 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Titus Catholic Church.  

Interment will follow in Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery.

Otto died Jan 20 2016, age 97.5,6

Otto Joseph "Banjo" Casoli, 97, of Aliquippa, went home to be with his beloved wife when he passed away on Friday, January 22, 2016.  

He was born October 18, 1918 in Aliquippa and was the son of the late Anthony and Regina (Marchioni) Casoli.  Otto was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn (Hanshew) Casoli on January 14, 2015.  He was also preceded in death by four brothers, Fred, Albert, Dan and Eli Casoli, and three sisters, Delores Musante, Elizabeth Pietrandria and Mamie Mitrovich.  

He was a member of Saint Titus Roman Catholic Church, The Holy Name Society, The Elks Club, Panther Club, Celtic Reds and The M.P.I Club.  Otto honorably served our country during World War II in the United States Army.  He was retired from J&L Steelworks/LTV with 40 years of service.  

Otto is survived by his loving family; three children and their spouses, Carol Casoli, with whom he resided, O.J. and Mary Casoli, and Darrell and Laura Casoli; eight grandchildren and their spouses, Heather and John Cartwright, Regina and Ken Kosela, Joseph and Jennifer Trone, David and Naamah Trone, Jonathan Bryant, Megan and Marc Phipps, Michael and Gina Casoli, and Melissa and David Jones; thirteen great-grandchildren and their spouses, Brandon and Terra Cartwright, Zackary Cartwright, Sarah and Hannah Kosela, Joshua and Jacob Trone, Kaylee, Owen and Mahlah Trone, Ashtan, Annyah and Alexus Phipps and Samantha Jones, and one great-great-grandson, Jase Cartwright.  Otto is also survived by his sister, Eleanor Dimatrakis; a brother, Robert Casoli and three sisters-in-law, Gerry Domitrovich, Annabelle Keppel and Connie Hanshew.  He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.  

Visitation will be Tuesday evening 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the ANTHONY MASTROFRANCESCO FUNERAL HOME INC., 2026 McMinn St., Aliquippa, 724-375-0496.  Departing prayers will begin Thursday at 9 a.m. in the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 9:30 a.m. in Saint Titus Church with Father Paul Householder officiating.  Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.  

The Holy Name Society will recite the rosary at 7:30 p.m. in the funeral home on Wednesday evening.  

The Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter #862 will provide military honors at the cemetery at 10:45 a.m.
