ALEXANDRIA -- Irene A. (Webber) Hanshew, 95, Alexandria Care Center, died Dec. 15, 2003, at the nursing home after a brief illness.
She was born July 16, 1908, in Troy, N.Y., and lived in Madison County since 1927. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include two sons, Joe (wife, Mary) Heath of Frankton and Charles (wife, Jane) Frazier of Elwood; son-in-law, Bob Holder of Frankton; two sisters, Gertrude "Babe" Maddox and Marian Weidner; 11 grandchildren, Doug (wife, Cherri) Holder, Sharon (Terry) Ball, Karen (Bill) Northern, Larry (Hope) McCoy, Joe (Gay) Heath, John (Chris) Heath, Jerry Heath, Linda Heath, Tammy Stonebarger, Marie (Billy) Hooten and Doug (Conetta) Porter; 31 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; and a great-great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by two daughters, Ethel McCoy and Ruth Holder; two grandchildren, Thomas McCoy and Michael Holder; and three spouses, Joe Heath, Henry Frazier and Bennie Hanshew.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service, Anderson, with Craig Patty officiating. Burial will be in East Maplewood Cemetery.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Activity Fund at Alexandria Care Center.
