She married Orval E. Jennings, Oct 12 1918, United Methodist Church, Richmond, Wayne County, Indiana.3,4,5,6  Orval was born Apr 11 1899.4

At White River MM on 8-3-1918, Hazel was dropped from membership.2  

The following biography appeared in the book "History of the Carter Family", pages 57-61, a contemporary (1924-1928) family history:3

"Hazel, youngest daughter of Elza and Mary E, Hinshaw was born April 6, 1897.  Her education was limited to that of the district schools but was sufficient to make her a useful member of society.  She was married Oct. 12, 1916 to Orval Jennings a young farmer of Wayne County.  They are the parents of four children namely: Everett O., who died in 1926, Irene, Harold Eugene and Betty Jane."

In 1942 Hazel was living in Richmond, Wayne County, Indiana.7
