Born Feb 27 1887, McAlester, Pittsburg County, Oklahoma.1,2,5,6,7  (Feb 28 1887).8  (Mar - 1886).9  

He married Hannah Schneider, about 1910.1,2,10  Hannah, daughter of George/John Schneider & Louise Weiseman, was born Oct 1 1890, Staunton, Illinois.10,11  (c1889).1,2,6  

On Jun 5 1917 Hiram Smith Henshaw, age 30, registered for the World War I draft in Franklin County, Illinois.  He declared he was born Feb 27 1887 in McAllister [sic], Oklahoma, and was then residing in Sesser, [Franklin County,] Illinois, with a dependent wife and two children, employed as a coal miner at Sesser Coal Co.  He was recorded as tall, medium build, light brown eyes, light brown hair.5

Henshaw, Hiram, head-of-household, age 53, born in Oklahoma; completed 8th grade; on Apr 1 1935 was living in the same place/town; owned home ($1750 value); occupation: miner, maintenance man; worked 52 weeks in 1939; $1500 wages in 1939, plus other income.
Henshaw, Hannah, wife, age 50, born in Illinois; completed 8th grade; on Apr 1 1935 was living in the same place/town.

On Apr 27 1942 Hiram Smith Henshaw, age 55, registered for the World War II draft in Collinsville, Madison County, Illinois.  He declared he was born Feb 27 1887 in McAlister [sic], Oklahoma, and was then residing at 107 S. Guernsey, Collinsville, Illinois, employed by Collinsville Coal Corp.  He declared his relative/contact was Anna Henshaw of the same address.  He was recorded as 5'8" tall, 150 lbs., blue eyes, brown hair, ruddy complexion.7  

In 1949 Hiram and Hannah were living in Los Angeles, California.12

Hiram Smith Henshaw died Jul 2 1957, St. Luke's Hospital, St. Louis, Missouri; age 70.8  

Hiram's obituary was published in the "Edwardsville Intelligencer" (Edwardsville, Illinois) on Wednesday, July 3, 19578 (see scan below).  

Hannah died Apr 19 1962, Maplewood, St. Louis County, Missouri; buried Sunset Hill Cemetery.11  

Hannah's obituary was published in the "Edwardsville Intelligencer" (Edwardsville, Illinois) on Thursday, April 19, 196211 (see scan below).
