JAMES E. HANSHAW
Funeral services for James Edward Hanshaw, 81, who died here yesterday, will be held at 2 p.m. tomorrow in the Shannon & Carmody Funeral Chapel. Hartzell Cobbs, minister of the First Christian Church, will officiate. Burial will be in the Masonic Cemetery. Hanshaw was a native Californian who had lived in this county all his life. He was a employee of the City of Modesto parks department for 20 years and was a member of Modesto Neighbors of Woodcraft No. 443. Hanshaw was the husband of Mary Leah Hanshaw, Modesto; father of Mrs. Pauline Boag, Pittsburg, Contra Costa County, and Mrs. Audine Kirkle, Modesto, and stepfather of Clarence Knott, Vallejo, Solano County. He was the brother of Mrs. Bertie Montgomery, Oakdale, Mrs. Minnie Bently, Mrs. Eva Koster, Mervin Hanshaw and Mrs. Ruby Wolff, all of Stockton, Ernest Hanshaw, San Francisco and Elvis Hanshaw, Redding, Shasta County. He also is survived by five grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.

MARY LEAH HANSHAW
Mary Leah Hanshaw, 86, of Modesto died yesterday in a local nursing home following a long illness. A native of Colorado, she had lived in Modesto 60 years and had been a member of Neighbors of Woodcraft of Modesto. She is survived by a son, Clarence F. Knott of Vallejo, Solano County; two sisters, Mabel Hy7nes and Dole Bates, both of Modesto; a half sister, Mildred Eller of Washington; a half brother, Simeon Beeson of Washington; two stepdaughters, Pauline Boge of Pittsburg, Contra Costa County, and Audine Kircle of Modesto; 10 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren. Services will be held at 1:30 PM tomorrow in the Franklin & Downs Funeral Home and burial will be in the Acacia Memorial Park.
