He married Louisa R. Horning, Feb 28 1893, Keokuk County, Iowa.5,6 Louisa, daughter of Anton Horning & Mary Conkle, was born 1868, Iowa.6
Elvin E. Hinshaw died Jul 27 1895, Richland, Keokuk County, Iowa; age 28.1,5,7,8
Elvin's obituary was published in "The American Friend" on August 8, 1895 (page 773).8
It is believed that Elvin and Louisa did not have children9 (they were only married less than two years when Elvin died). After Elvin died Louisa returned to her father's household in Iowa10 (census records show no child living with her).10
