Hanshew, Robert F.
FORMERLY OF ALIQUIPPA - Robert F. Hanshew, 85, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, Feb. 19, 2005, in Beverly Health Care, Meadville, Pa.
Born Nov. 14, 1919, in Monaca, a son of the late Glen and Mary Kuhn Hanshew, he attended Aliquippa Schools, where he played basketball. He was a sergeant in the U.S. Air Force during World War II and was employed by General Fireproofing, Youngstown, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Glen Hanshew, and two sisters, June Manolovich and Ruth Fellows.
Surviving are his wife, Martha Cover Hanshew; a daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Steve Walla; a grandson, Robert; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Annabell and Walter Keppel, Evelyn and Otto Casoli, and Geraldine Domitrovich; a sister-in-law, Connie Hanshew; a brother-in-law, Morris Manolovich, and many nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received today from 5 to 8 p.m. in the CUNNINGHAM-BECKER FUNERAL HOME, Poland, Ohio.
Private burial will be in Poland Riverside Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Diabetes Foundation.
