Charles David Thompson
(June 22, 1929 - August 21, 2014)Charles David Thompson, 75, longtime resident of Littlefield, passed away Thursday August 21, 2014 in Littlefield. He was born June 22, 1939 in Provence, Oklahoma to Dick and Velma Thompson. David married Donna Henshaw July 2, 1957 in Levelland. He was a hard worker, and served as an oilfield dirt contractor for many years. He loved being outdoors and tinkering on equipment and tractors, he was never idle. David also enjoyed fishing, but his greatest joy was spending time with his family. He was a loving and dedicated father and PaPa, and a devoted husband. David was a proud Christian man, and a member of the Follow Thru Fellowship Church in Littlefield. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Donna Thompson of Littlefield; two daughters, Davida Burks of Lubbock and Dawnita Germain-Bonne and husband Philippe of Lubbock; three grandchildren, Brittany Burks, Taylor Burks, and Noah Germain-Bonne, all of Lubbock; a brother, Dan Thompson of Wilson, Oklahoma; and a sister, Charlene Chatham, of Wilson, Oklahoma. Funeral Services to celebrate David’s life will be 10:00 a.m., Monday August 25, 2014 at Follow Thru Fellowship Church in Littlefield with Pastor Tracy Spencer officiating. Interment will follow in Littlefield Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 4:00-6:00 p.m., at the funeral home.
