Evelyn Hathaway, 88, of Sweet Home passed away Tuesday.
She was born in Pratt, Kan., to Cleveland Sylvester and Burliegh Frances (Lane) Hinshaw.
She married Ted Hathaway on Nov. 25, 1947, after they met in Salem. They lived in Sweet Home and raised a son and daughter. She was an Eastern Star. Evelyn moved to The Oaks in May 2008.
She belonged to a pinochle group for many years. She loved to sew and crochet. She and her husband owned and operated a Pack Sac business for 20 years.
Evelyn is survived by daughter Joan Hathaway of Albany; son Eric Hathaway of Sweet Home; brothers Howard Hinshaw of Lebanon and Oliver Hinshaw of Eugene; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her spouse, Ted Hathaway, on Dec. 28, 2002; sisters Mildred Norris in 2003, Frances Fisher in 1996 and Charolette Bates in 2004; and brother Mac Hinshaw in 1996.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at The Oaks in Lebanon, followed by a potluck.
