Note that the 1850 census above indicates Lewis and family apparently moved from New York to Kenosha County, Wisconsin sometime between about 1845 and 1850. On Aug 1 1844 a Seth Travis Henshaw of Racine County, Wisconsin acquired 40 acres of land in Kenosha County, Wisconsin;7,8 on Sep 10 1844 the same Seth Travis Henshaw acquired 40 additional acres in Kenosha County;7,8 on Mar 1 1848 Abram Henshaw, also described as from Racine County, acquired 40 acres in Kenosha County.7,8 It is possible these Henshaws might have been closely related to Lewis.9

See also: Joseph Henshaw who lived and is buried in Kenosha County, Wisconsin, and might have been Lewis' father.9 One posted family tree claims that Joseph Henshaw was indeed Lewis' father,10 but no conclusive facts supporting this are known.
