Norma Jean Atkinson, age 85, of Salem, died at 8:40 a.m. Thursday, October 29, 2015 in the Emergency Room of Salem Regional Medical Center. She was born October 10, 1930 in Jacksonville, Florida, the daughter of the late Howard and Martha (DeWees) Hinshaw.
Her husband, Donald E. Atkinson, whom she married February 7, 1970 survives her along with two sons, David Gatchel of Leetonia and John Atkinson of Salem; two stepsons, Lee (Ivonne) Atkinson of Houston, Texas and James Atkinson of Salem; two daughters, Barbara Warren of Lisbon and Elizabeth Stamp of Salem; two stepdaughters, Mary Catherine (David) Leis of Fallston, Pennsylvania and Jill (Stan) Mann of Beaver, Pennsylvania; two sisters, Mary Anne (Robert) Walton of Winona and Kathleen (Leroy) Holloway of Winter Springs, Florida; 13 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.
A brother and a sister also preceded her in death.
