Mary Anne Walton
February 14, 1932 - September 25, 2016Mary Anne Walton, age 84, of Winona, died at 9:50 p.m. Sunday, September 25, 2016 at the Alliance Community Hospital. She was born February 14, 1932 in Sebring, Florida, the daughter of the late Howard B. and Martha D. (Dewess) Hinshaw.
She was a 1951 graduate of Olney Boarding School in Barnesville, Ohio.
Maryanne was a babysitter to many children and housewife for 40 years. She worked for Deming Pump in Salem in the late 1950’s and was a member of the Winona Meeting, Winona Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary, WAHS, and a former member of Butler Grange.Survivors include her husband, Robert L. Walton, whom she married May 3, 1958; two sons, Gary L. (Stephanie) Walton of Winona, and Earl H. (Sue) Walton of Rochester, New York; a daughter, Debra A. (Michael) Hanley of Winona; a sister, Kathy (LeRoy) Holloway of Winter Springs, Florida; seven grandchildren, Graceanne and Miranda Hanley, Tyler and Ryan Walton, and Ashley, McKenzie, and Jessica Walton; two step grandchildren, Tom and Debbie; and one great grandson Konner.
She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Barbara Hinshaw, Roberta Dayrmple, and Norma Atkinson; and a brother, Chester Hinshaw.
A Quaker service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at the Stark Memorial Funeral Home. Calling hours will be held Wednesday one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Woodsdale Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Winona Fire Department Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 79, Winona, Ohio 44493 or Winona Area Historical Society, P.O. Box 85, Winona, Ohio 44493.
